Westland Polytechnic Launches Innovative TVET Program to Boost Skills and Employment

Ilobu, Nigeria -Westland polytechnic of Ilobu has announced the launch of a new Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program aimed at equipping students with practical skills and increasing their employment opportunities. The program, which will commence in on the 30th of the school academic session, will offer a range of courses designed to meet the demands of the local job market.

The TVET program will focus on hands-on training in high-demand fields such as information technology, renewable energy, and agriculture. Students will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, as well as experienced instructors with industry expertise. “Our goal is to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s competitive job market,” said the school Rector MR Ayoalabi. “This TVET program will offer practical, industry-relevant training that will make our graduates highly employable.”

The program also includes partnerships with local businesses and organizations, providing students with opportunities for internships and apprenticeships. This will allow them to gain real-world experience and build valuable professional networks.

The school is also working to ensure the program is accessible to a diverse range of students, including those from underserved communities. Scholarships and financial aid will be available to help students overcome financial barriers to education.

The launch of this TVET program is seen as a significant step towards addressing the skills gap in the region and promoting economic development.
